Fati & Charles

Fati is from a small city in Argentina near Buenos Aires. Fati is an accountant and until song lyrics started pouring out of her, she never thought she had musical talent or any artistic ability. But it seems like children change us and allow us to discover parts of ourselves that were hidden or buried.

I am from Washington, D.C. and Brooklyn. I played music in college and after college in rock bands and jazz jams. It had been a long time since I wrote songs but Fati's lyrics and the sing-alongs in the park inspired me.

Music has been a huge part of our lives since the kids were born. We found ourselves singing and dancing while getting water, changing diapers, or marching off to take a bath. Music made the mundane chores of the day more fun for us and for Chloe and Kylen.

This project has added a totally dimension to my relationship with Fati. She is now my song writing partner and the lead singer in our band, something which neither of us ever imagined was a remote possibility when we were married 6 years ago. These are the kinds of profound changes that children bring to the lives of their parents.

"Fati and Charles rocked Nina's birthday party! The great energy they displayed put everyone to dance -kids and adults, Spanish- and non-Spanish-speakers alike. And Nina was rockstar-shocked to see one of her favorite characters -Conejito Teo- perform for her. We all had so much fun!"
